All Members and Clients

  • All clients of The Center Studio are asked to respect all who train here and to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. The Center Studio management reserves the right to dismiss any client whose behavior staff feels is disruptive.
  • All members and clients who train at TCS are asked to carry in the pair of shoes they will be exercising in. We ask that you change in to your gym shoes before walking upstairs.
  • Because of our welcoming manner and discreet approach, we kindly ask that you refrain from wearing sports bras as a top during exercise.
  • Cell phones can be kept nearby if you need to be available to your callers, however, if the phone rings, we ask that you answer it promptly and take your conversation away from the exercise floor.
  • In the case of inclement weather, we ask that you call The Studio to listen to a recorded message indicating whether sessions are cancelled. If there is no such recording, assume that business is "as usual".
  • Please refrain from wearing strong perfume during exercise.
  • Unless previously approved by management, soliciting is not permitted in The Studio. Please see Community Board rules downstairs in entry way.

Group Exercise Members

  • Group Session Card Members are solely responsible for the safety of their cards. You may choose to keep your card at TCS or keep in your possession.
  • In the event that you lose your card, unless you can prove otherwise by reviewing our saved attendance logs, the balance on your card will be calculated based on a 5 session per week schedule from the date of your card purchase.
  • You must present your card to the instructor or designated attendant and sign in to the class attendance log at the beginning of the class.
  • As a benefit of membership, all members are permitted to bring a guest (family or visiting relatives or friends) one time for FREE. You may bring as many guests as you wish (once) during the course of your membership. Please pick up a "3 for FREE" guest pass for friends who are serious about sampling TCS.
  • In the event that you move more than 25 miles from TCS, the balance on your Group Session Card can be refunded. Your card is also fully transferrable to a family member or friend who is not currently a TCS member.
  • Please be sure to share with each instructor whose classes you attend any conditions that would necessitate extra care on the part of the instructor. It is important that the instructor is aware of a history of pain, injuries, joint replacements, pregnancy, high blood pressure, heart issues, and the presence of osteoporosis, arthritis or other orthopedic restrictions.
  • Members of the Group Exercise program are asked to arrive promptly for class. Often, important instructions related to safety and technique are given at the beginning of each class. The teacher may not be able to repeat the instructions after class has started. Those showing up late for class must be prepared to exercise at their own risk or may be asked to return to another class.
  • The description of classes -- including the intensity and degree of modifiability will be posted in The Studio. To ensure that you are in the appropriate class we advise that you carefully review. The instructor reserves the right to ask a member to return to a different class if he or she feels that quality and safety is compromised by a member attending a class that may not be appropriate,

SPINNING® Policies

Sign-up/Wait-list

  • All those interested in participating in SPINNING® must first secure a spin reservation number by registering at the front desk.
  • You may sign up for SPINNING® classes every day, starting at 7 AM in-person. Barring any unusual actions by the landlord, the doors to The Studio will be open from the time of the first morning class until the time the last class of the evening ends.
  • You can only sign up for one class per day, but may "drop-in" to a second class in the hope of obtaining an open bike.
  • You may only sign up yourself.
  • When signing the sheet, please legibly write your premium reservation number only. If signing up in a wait-list spot- write your phone # clearly.
  • If you discover an opening, and you are the next person on the wait list, move your number up; erase your number on the wait-list section and alert staff of these actions.
  • You are strongly discouraged from signing up for multiple classes that you do not plan to attend.
  • If you discover that you are unable to attend a class you are signed-up for, you may not give your spot to another member. The next person on the wait-list has earned that spot.
  • You are encouraged to monitor the wait-list yourself. If a cancellation occurs and you are the next name on the list, we will make every attempt to contact you, but can not guarantee telephone or e-mail contact.

Cancellations

  • To cancel, you must cancel by phone or in person. Use the "spin line" (#92) for cancellations only.
  • Cancellations for all morning classes (including the weekend) must be made by 6 PM the previous night. Cancellations for any evening class (after 5 PM) must be made by 10 AM that same day.
  • If proper notice is not given, you will be invoiced for $10. You are allowed one FREE cancellation every 3 months.
  • We acknowledge that family crises and emergencies are certainly reasonable explanations for not providing proper notice. Although we are empathetic, we can not discern between "legitimate" and "bogus" no-shows.
  • If cancellations are excessive, the SPINNING Director reserves the right to revoke your SPIN reservation number.

Punctuality

  • Be prepared to arrive early enough so you can start at the time posted on the schedule.
  • Participants arriving late must understand that the instructor will not be available to assist you in any way. Also, a wait-list or "drop-in" SPINNER has the right to take a bike from a signed-up SPINNER who arrives late.
  • It is at the sole discretion of the instructor whether or not you are permitted to participate in the class. If the instructor feels that your late arrival will impact your, or other riders' safety, or feels that the flow of the class has been interrupted, you may be asked to return at a later date.

Age Requirement/Safety

  • Upon TCS approval and signed consent, children age 14 and 15 years can SPIN with parent or adult present.
  • With TCS management approval, children 16 years old or older can SPIN unsupervised (with signed consent form by an adult)
  • We request that members do not move the SPIN bikes.

Back-to-back classes

You are not permitted to sign up for back-to-back classes (unless we are offering a double length class). You may sign up foronly one class. When the class is over, please step out of the SPINNING® room. You may return to the room and spin again only after all members who have signed up, are on the wait list or are hoping to gain a spot as a "drop-in" have claimed their position on a bike -- as directed by the instructor.

Unusable Bikes

In the case of a sudden mechanical dysfunction, the instructor will relinquish his or her bike.
